Reward offered in case of missing 75-year-old woman

TROUP COUNTY, Ga. -- A large cash reward is now being offered in the disappearance of a 75-year-old Troup County woman.

Carol Evans was last seen last seen at her home on Lower Lovelace Road in West Point, Ga., around 2 p.m. on Friday, according to the Troup County Sheriff's Office. Authorities believe it's possible that she left her house by foot and never returned.

After extensive searches, authorities said teams have not been able to locate Evans.

Sheriff's officials said they are not yet labeling the case as a criminal matter, and have not received information that has led them to that direction.

Evans suffers from the late stages of a "altered mental state" and "does have times of confusion as to where she is", according to the sheriff's office.

Authorities are asking anyone who may have given Evans a ride in the area on Friday, or anyone else with information on the case, to contact the Troup County Sheriff's Office at 706-883-1616 or Troup County Crime Stoppers at 706-812-1000.
